The Law ITS Department maintains a variety of technology spaces and service locations on campus in support of UConn Law faculty, staff, administrators, and students. See below for an overview, and explore the tabs above for more information.

Help Desk

The ITS Help Desk is the first point of contact for technology services and help from Information Technology Services, providing support for the UConn Law community in the use of computer, email, and Internet-related services.  The ITS Help Desk is located on the second floor of the Law Library.  Please note that access to some of our facilities, such as the ITS computers requires a valid UConn ID.

Assistive Technology Room

The Law ITS Department also provides support for the Assistive Technology Room, located on the fourth floor (Room 421) of the Law Library. The room is open during regular library hours and is available to approved students by the student services office.

Each semester, our Information Technology Services department schedules regular hours to answer questions regarding computer maintenance and security, and to assist with connecting to the UCONN-SECURE wireless network, printers and more. The Help Desk is located on the second floor of the Thomas J. Meskill Law Library. Hours are regularly posted on the ITS website and on bulletin boards located in the library.

Computer Lab

The Law School's computer labs offer both an opportunity to complete coursework and a place to receive training on computer-assisted legal research tools.  Both labs are located on the second floor of the Law Library and are open during all Law Library hours.

The workstations in the computer labs may only be used by registered law students, faculty, and staff. Each user is assigned a unique login name (LawID) and password to access the Law School network.  If you do not know your LawID, visit the Help Desk or submit a ticket for additional assistance.  For security reasons, please note that requests for help with credentials must be made in writing or in person.

There are 16 workstations located in the large lab and 6 workstations in the small lab. All machines are Dell Pentium PCs running MS Windows 7.

Although both labs are available for general use, the small lab also serves as a hands-on instructional lab. It can be reserved by law school faculty, staff, and student organizations for instructional sessions.

The library periodically offers (or sponsors) instructional sessions on our electronic legal research tools, such as Westlaw and LexisNexis. If you are interested in scheduling a training session for any of the library's electronic research tools, complete our form or contact the Help Desk.

During instructional sessions, students not participating in the session are asked to use the large lab. Some instructors might permit students to use vacant computers during a class, however this use is at the discretion of the instructor. Reserved times are posted on the door.
