Information for Employers

The Center for Career Development at the University of Connecticut School of Law offers a variety of ways for employers to engage with UConn Law students and graduates. We regularly hold recruiting events, participate in regional and specialty career fairs and conferences, and invite employers to contact us directly any time they have positions to fill. Employers have easy access to all our recruiting materials and information via Symplicity, our password-protected recruiting site. We offer several formal interview programs and are able to offer other scheduling to support employers when they are hiring.

Recruiting Programs

The Center for Career Development invites employers to connect with UConn Law students through recruiting programs, which are held throughout the year. Employers may also engage with UConn Law students at various career fairs nationwide.

Boston Area Interview Program
Held in late July,this program recently included more than a dozen Boston area employers. A Resume Collect option is also available. The Center for Career Development collects application materials and organizes and supports screening interviews for employers seeking summer associates.

New York Resume Collection Program
Held in late July. The Center for Career Development collects and organizes application materials for participating employers based in New York.

Connecticut-Based Large Firms Interview Program
Held in late July. The Center for Career Development collects application materials and organizes and hosts interviews for employers who are hiring for summer and post-graduate job opportunities.

September Interview Program (Focused opportunity for small and midsize employers in the private and public sectors)
The Center for Career Development collects application materials and organizes and hosts interviews for employers who are hiring for summer and post-graduate job opportunities.

UConn Law Cultural Diversity Initiative
Hosted by the Center for Career Development in early January, this program offers employers an opportunity to interview diverse first-year students early in their law school careers for summer positions.

Spring Interviewing Program
The Center for Career Development collects application materials and organizes and hosts screening interviews for private sector, public interest, and government employers hiring for summer and post-graduate opportunities. Many first-year law students connect with their first legal jobs through this growing program.

UConn Law Spring Career Fair
Held in February, this program provides employers the opportunity to meet with students in a job fair setting. The event is specifically designed for small and midsize law firms, government agencies, public interest organizations and corporations. Both virtual and in-person events are offered.

Equal Justice Works Career Fair & Conference - Washington, DC
Held in October, this event brings together nearly 200 public interest and government employers and more than 1,000 law students from across the nation for two days of interviews and informational sessions.

Peggy Browning Fund Worker’s Rights Conference
The law school participates in this conference and supports attendance by students with successful applications to the program.

New York University Public Interest Legal Career Fair - New York, NY
Hosted by New York University in early February, this program offers students interested in public interest law the opportunity to interview with more than 400 public interest and government employers.

Loyola Patent Law Interview Program - Chicago, IL
Hosted by Loyola Chicago School of Law in late July, this program connects patent law employers with rising 2L and 3L students.
