Due to federal regulations the University lending institutions cannot release student loan disbursements any earlier than 13 days prior to the first day of the semester. If you have accepted your financial aid package, 'anticipated aid' should already appear on your student fee bill.
If you have not yet completed the application process, including the submission of your 2016-2017 acceptance form to the Student Finance Office, your fee bill charges will not be deferred. However, once this is done, the anticipated award will be used to defer payment. Deferment is only available if the student is receiving verifiable financial aid.
Administrative deferments are considered for:
- An unforeseen financial emergency such as loss of employment, serious illness, or large unexpected expenses such as a car repair. Student must submit verification of the event (medical bills, repair bills, etc.)
- Tuition reimbursement from employer. Students must submit a letter from their employer indicating the amount that will be reimbursed and the date that the student will provide the reimbursement.
- Verification that the student will be receiving an educational loan. Students must get approval from the Student Finance Office.
