Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has appointed Pedro Segarra '85 as commissioner of the state workers' compensation commission. Segarra served as mayor of Hartford from 2010-2015. Prior to his appointment, Segarra worked for the firm Shimkus, Murphy and Rosenberger in Hartford.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has appointed Kevin O'Connor '92 to serve on the UConn Board of Trustees. O'Connor graduated from UConn Law in 1992 with high honors and was recognized with the Distinguished Graduate Award. O'Connor served as an associate attorney general under President George W. Bush from 2008-2009. Most recently, O'Connor works as chief legal counsel for Point 72 in Stamford, Connecticut.
