Class Secretaries our best ambassadors to promote alumni programs. The expectations of this role include the following:
- Encourage classmates to participate in Graduate Gatherings and UConn Law events;
- Keep classmates up to date on news and events from the law school, share updates from classmates with the school;
- Every five years, assist with promoting your class reunion;
- Make a charitable gift commitment early and encourage classmates to give to UConn School of Law.
Alumni host events in their homes and places of employment, at their clubs or at local restaurants. This generous contribution allows the Alumni Office to expand our reach and connect with a broader range of alumni. Event guests may include the dean, faculty, representatives from UConn or other featured alumni speakers.
Help guide the new lawyers in solo practice at our affiliated incubator, the Connecticut Community Law Center. Mentors offer expertise in various areas of the law, advice on the practical aspects of running a solo law practice and guidance in professionalism and ethics.
The Law School Alumni Association taps alumni with a strong history of volunteerism and support for the school who represent the rich diversity of the alumni base to serve as directors. This is a three-year renewable term of service and a meaningful opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity.
