Commencement is a time to celebrate our graduates and wish them well as they transition to the legal profession. We also recognize the support provided by family and friends and we invite you to join us in the celebration. 94th Commencement of the Law School - Sunday, May 21, 2017

J.D. candidates, LL.M. candidates, faculty, administrators and guests are cordially invited to this annual celebration for graduating students. The ceremony includes a commencement address, graduate student speakers and the conferral of Juris Doctor (J.D.), Master of Laws (LL.M.) and Doctorate of Laws (S.J.D.) degrees.

2017 Commencement Speaker: Emily Bazelon

Emily Bazelon is a Senior Research Scholar in Law at Yale Law School in New Haven, Connecticut. She is also a staff writer at the New York Times Magazine and author of the national bestseller Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. Before joining the Times, Bazelon worked for nine years as a senior editor at Slate. She has been a Soros media fellow, an editor and writer at Legal Affairs magazine, and a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Professor Bazelon is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School.
