Stephen Paul Maidman is engaged in the private practice of law in Springfield, Massachusetts. His practice is devoted primarily to criminal appeals and related collateral proceedings in the state and federal courts. He is on the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) post-conviction murder list. Professor Maidman is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Bowdoin College. He earned his M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Prior to establishing his own practice, he spent fourteen years on the legal staff of IBM Corporation. Professor Maidman is on the board of directors of Hampden County Lawyers for Justice, Inc. and he is the chairman of its Attorney Performance Committee. He is the 2010 recipient of the Carol A. Donovan Award for Exceptional Advocacy given by CPCS.
