Linda Gebauer is Director of the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic at UConn School of Law. Before coming to UConn, she was Vice President and General Counsel of Energizer Personal Care, a global manufacturer of consumer products, where she worked from 1997 to 2014. Extensive litigation of intellectual property matters in Europe and Asia on behalf of Energizer provided her the opportunity to develop her interest in comparative legal regimes in the intellectual property field. Before working at Energizer, she was an associate at the Jones Day law firm in the intellectual property practice area.
Professor Gebauer entered private practice after earning her J.D. from Ohio State University College of Law. She returned to academia and earned a degree in chemical engineering (magna cum laude) from Cleveland State University while employed at NASA’s Glenn Research Center in the electrophysics branch. She has been a member of the Patent Bar of the United States Patent and Trademark Office for more than 20 years. Professor Gebauer is also admitted to the bar in Ohio and Vermont. She is committed to increasing the participation of minorities in the field of intellectual property.
