James Lotstein retired from private practice at Locke Lord, LLP at the end of 2016 after a long career focused on corporate and business law. He represented both public and privately held companies in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general business law. Professor Lotstein is a Fellow of the James W. Cooper Fellows Program of The Connecticut Bar Foundation. He recently served on the Commission On Connecticut’s Leadership In Corporation and Business Law, created by the Connecticut legislature. He serves on the Corporate Laws Committee of the American Bar Association, which writes the Model Business Corporation Act, which has been adopted by a majority of the states, including Connecticut. He was recognized in Best Lawyers as the 2013 Hartford Mergers & Acquisitions Law Lawyer of the Year, 2012 Hartford Corporate Law Lawyer of the Year and the 2010 Hartford Mergers & Acquisitions Lawyer of the Year.
