Join the 1L class as Honorable Joette Katz ‘77, former Associate Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court, speaks about the transformative impact that public service lawyering has on clients, communities and lawyers themselves. Through an interactive exercise, students will discover the challenges individuals and communities face when they seek legal services to assert their rights and remedy injustice. Justice Katz will talk about the real world challenges of this “Justice Gap” and how law students can respond to the gap by getting involved in pro bono and public service projects in our neighborhoods and beyond.
