Description:

Now in its second year, UConn Law's Semester in NYC Program offers students the opportunity to live and engage in legal practice in the New York City. Students work full-time in credit-bearing field placements at NYC-based legal offices, government agencies and public interest organizations. Under the supervision of experienced lawyers, students gain valuable practice experience and insight into the legal culture of NYC. Last spring, our placements included the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the Environmental Defense Fund, and Allied World Assurance Company. At this information session, students who participated in the program last spring will describe the placement process and their experiences in NYC. They, along with program faculty, will answer questions about the program generally and specific placement opportunities. The Semester in NYC application process will be starting soon. Interested students should be sure to attend the information session so that they are in the best position to secure a field placement in NYC that meets their educational and career development needs.
