Individual Field Placements offer students opportunities for experiential learning tailored to their own educational and career goals. Placements may include non-profit legal services; advocacy and public policy organizations; government offices and agencies; private law firms; corporate in-house legal departments; prosecutor's and criminal defender's offices; federal and state judicial chambers; and adjudication divisions of administrative agencies. When taken for at least three credits and concurrently with the Individual Field Placement Seminar, Individual Field Placements will satisfy the Practice-Based Learning Requirement.
At the information session, Field Placement Program Director Jennifer Mailly will address how to identify and secure an appropriate field placement, field placement and seminar enrollment procedures and deadlines, and course requirements. Students are encouraged to visit the Individual Field Placements webpage at http://www.law.uconn.edu/academics/clinics-experiential-learning/individual-field-placements.
