The Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF) Chapter at UConn Law School invites students to attend our first general body meeting of the school year. We will provide food from Black Bamboo for lunch (vegan and vegetarian options available).
SALDF will be discussing Desmond's Law, a new ground breaking law that gives animals a voice in court. Professor Rubin will be in attendance to explain how you can get involved. Read this New York Times article about Connecticut's Desmond's Law for more information. We also will talk about our upcoming events, including a trivia night fundraiser for animal shelters in Houston and Florida impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
A 1L representative position in SADLF and several committee positions available for those interested. We look forward to seeing everybody on Wednesday.
