Discussion with Attorney Jennifer A. Harchick, U.S. Patent & Trademark Office

Jennifer A. Harchick is a staff attorney for the Office of Enrollment and Discipline at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Attorney Harchick will be addressing important topics related to the USPTO, including employment opportunities and her personal pathway to a career at the USPTO. Students will have the opportunity to speak with Ms. Harchick and the IP Law Clinic faculty during lunch.

Lunch will be served in the Reading Room immediately following the presentation.

Jennifer A. Harchick joined the United States Patent and Trademark Office in January 2012 as a staff attorney in the Office of Enrollment and Discipline. Prior to joining the USPTO, Ms. Harchick engaged in the private practice of intellectual property law with boutique intellectual property firms, including in the Alexandria, Virginia area. Her private practice focused primarily on patent, trademark and copyright litigation; patent and trademark counseling; patent and trademark prosecution; rendering opinions on patentability, infringement and patent validity issues; and licensing of intellectual property. She received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 1998 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001. She was admitted to practice in patent cases before the USPTO in 2002. She is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts of Virginia and Ohio, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
