This conference and workshop is intended to help Connecticut policymakers, experts and residents start the process of creating a statewide plan for managing its water resources.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is scheduled to speak at 12:30 p.m. at the conference, which will include panel discussions and workshops with policymakers and experts. Topics will include state-of-the-art water resource plans in other states; models for determining the allocation of available water resources; and opportunities and obstacles to developing and implementing a state plan.
The interactive afternoon workshop will engage conference attendees in suggesting a vision for a Connecticut water resources plan, framing its guiding principles, and recommending next steps for moving forward.
