Michelle Chase '87, former disability and mental health advocate and founder of Laurel House Art Association, died on July 12, 2018. Read her obituary.
The U.S. Senate confirmed Kari A. Dooley '88 as to the federal bench in the District of Connecticut on September 6, 2018. She was nominated by President Trump in December 2017 at the recommendation of Connecticut senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy. Dooley served as an assistant United States attorney for 12 years before she was appointed in 2004 to the Connecticut Superior Court. She began her career in private practice with Whitman and Ransom in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Jenna M. Montesano '16 has joined Hinckley Allen as a real estate associate in the firm's Hartford office. Her practice involves real estate, land use and business matters, representing corporate and real estate clients in loan, refinancing and recapitalization transactions.
Philip Pacelli '17 has joined Day Pitney as an associate in the firm's Hartford office, where his practice will focus on intellectual property. In addition to a JD from UConn School of Law, he earned an LLM in Intellectual Propery from Cardozo Law School.
Ronald M. Gregory '67, a former state elections enforcement officer and small business owner, died on August 28, 2018. Read his obituatry.
Judge Michael A. Albis '78 has been appointed chief administrative judge of family matters for the state of Connecticut. Albis has served as a Superior Court judge since 2013. Previously, he was a partner at Hilcoff & Albis, LLC in East Haven. Albis' appointment took effect as of September 4, 2018.
Robert Fasulo '65, a longtime Connecticut and Florida lawyer and accountant, died on August 3, 2018. Read his obituary.
George E. Blair III '84 has been named the new pastor at Mohegan Congregational Church in Uncasville, Connecticut. Blair comes to the new post having previously served at churches in Connecticut and in three other states.
Murtha Cullina LLP announced the hiring of Joseph D. Szerejko '15 as a litigation attorney. Szerejko will work as a member of the firm's Municipal and Land Use Practice Groups. He previously worked at Cohen and Wolf, P.C.
IFG Companies announced that they have hired John W. Mahoney '89 as senior vice president and chief claim officer. Mahoney will work out of the Hartford office, and will be responsible for managing IFG's national claims organization. Previously, Mahoney worked at Zurich North America.
