In Memoriam: Homer G. Scoville '56

Homer G. Scoville '56, a long-time family lawyer and Connecticut senator, died on July 16, 2018. Read his obituary. 

Radha Mohan '12 Joins Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck

Radha Mohan '12 has joined Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, the firm announced. Mohan will work in Washington for the firm's Government Relations Department. She previously worked for McGuireWoods. 

Two UConn Alumni Join Halloran Sage

Halloran Sage has announced that Morris Borea '82 and Karl-Erik Sternlof '83 have joined the firm as partners. Borea will practice in the Hartford office in the areas of municipal and state government, litigation and dispute resolution. Sternlof will joins the firm's corporate business and transactions and real estate practice group, practicing in the New London office in the area of corporate business law.

Antonio Robaina '79 Joins McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Capenter

Former Judge Antonio Robaina '79 has joined McElroy Deutsche, Mulvaney & Carpenter after more than 20 years as a Superior Court judge. Robaina will focus on alternative dispute resolution out of the firm's Hartford office. Before becoming a judge, he worked for 20 years in private practice.

Tom Santopietro '81 to Present New Book

Tom Santopietro '81 will discuss his new book, "Why To Kill a Mockingbird Matters" at the Mark Twain House in Hartford on July 23, 2018. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with Santopietro's presentation, and will conclude with a live screening of the original film. 

Philip Pires '08 Appointed Chairman in Bridgeport

The Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District announced Philip Pires '08 was appointed chair of its board of commissioners, effective July 1, 2018. Pires currently works as a principal attorney at Cohen and Wolf, where he specializes in land use and zoning law. 

Odilon Borges Neto LLM '05 to Speak on Compliance Panel

Odilon Borges Neto LLM '05 will speak on a panel discussing compliance issues in Latin American law at the 11th West Coast Conference on FCPA Enforcement and Compliance in San Francisco. He will speak on a September 25, 2018 panel called, “Ask the Experts: Risk-ranking in Latin America."

Robbie T. Gerrick '02 Joins Halloran Sage

Robbie T. Gerrick '02 has joined Halloran Sage, where she will specialize in municipal and state government litigation. Gerrick will work out of the firm's Hartford location. She previously worked at McGivney, Kluger & Cook.

Kevin O'Connor '92 Appointed UConn Trustee

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has appointed Kevin O'Connor '92 to serve on the UConn Board of Trustees. O'Connor graduated from UConn Law in 1992 with high honors and was recognized with the Distinguished Graduate Award. O'Connor served as an associate attorney general under President George W. Bush from 2008-2009. Most recently, O'Connor works as chief legal counsel for Point 72 in Stamford, Connecticut.
