Summer 2018: Tuition & Fees

NOTICE: This Summer Term page provides information for Summer Term 2018 and has been replaced with the Summer Term 2019 section accessible from the left menu.


Summer Term courses are paid on a per-credit basis for in-state and out-of-state students.

The course fees are:

  • a one-time $30 technology fee
  • $1,021 per credit for JD and non-current law students
  • $1,190 per credit for U.S. Legal Studies LLM students, Energy & Environmental Law LLM students, and Human Rights LLM students
  • $1,326 per credit for Insurance LLM students

Payment for Summer Session I is due by May 18, 2018. Payment for Summer Session II is June 29, 2018.

Course Fee Refund Schedule

Refund rates:​

  • Summer Session I

    • Session Start Date: Monday, May 21, 2018 - Last Day to Drop & Receive full refund (100%), Friday, May 25, 2018.

    • No refund for courses dropped after Friday, May 25, 2018.

  • Summer Session II

    • Session Start Date:  Monday, July 2, 2018 - Last Day to Drop & Receive full refund (100%), Friday, July 6, 2018.

    • No refund for courses dropped after Friday, July 6, 2018.

Please note that these rules apply to the refund of fees; course add/drop deadlines may differ.

Summer Financial Aid

Scholarships and grants are not available for summer term. 1L Evening Division students are required to enroll in  Legal Practice: Negotiation for the June Term. Private educational loans are available to eligible students for this required 3 credit summer course. If taking a total of 6 or more credits over the entire summer, Federal Grad Plus loans are available.
