International Field Placements

Students participating in one of UConn Law’s international exchange programs may also pursue an international field placement while studying abroad. International field placements provide students with a unique opportunity to "learn by doing" by performing actual legal work under the supervision of an experienced legal practitioner in the host country. Interested students should contact the Director of Graduate and Exchange Programs to express interest, discuss options, and develop an individual plan of action.

Students apply for an international field placement in the same manner as any individual field placement, except that the Director of Graduate and Exchange Programs works closely with the Field Placement Program Director to help students to secure an appropriate placement.
