Located in Hartford and affiliated with the Law School, the Center for Children's Advocacy (CCA) is the largest children’s legal rights organization in New England. More information about the Center, its services and its activities is available here.
As part of its affiliation with the Law School, the Center operates a clinical program that offers law students formal instruction as well as on-the job training in legal advocacy for low income children and adolescents. Students assist CCA legal staff in representing children in cases involving abuse/neglect, special education, juvenile justice, and access to medical/mental health care. Students may work with the Center’s mobile office to reach homeless youth in the community, and may assist with ongoing impact litigation, training programs for lawyers, and state-level legislative and administrative advocacy.
Enrollment for the entire academic year is encouraged, although in 2018-19 students may enroll for the Fall or Spring semester only.
