This academic year, four new faculty experts bring an array of research and scholarship to the Law School in insurance, human rights, health care law and election regulation.

John Cogan HeadshotJohn Aloysius Cogan, Jr., a health insurance expert, focuses his research and teaching on health care organizations and finance, health law and policy, federal health programs, health care fraud and abuse and health insurance law. Molly Land is an international law and human rights scholar who researches on the effect of new technologies on human rights fact-finding, advocacy and enforcement as well as the role of human rights norms and framing strategies in organizing around human rights issues.
Brendan Maher, twice voted professor of the year by his students, writes on such topics as the Affordable Care Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the judicial role in pension and health care law. Doug Spencer's research and writing focuses on several important questions regarding the institutional regulation of elections at the intersection of law and political science, including many empirical questions that remain underexplored by legal scholars.
