Hundreds of items are set to go on the block for a great cause at the 26th Annual PILG auction on November 2, 2018.
The event, which will feature both live and silent auctions, is the main fundraiser of the year for the law school’s student-run Public Interest Law Group. All proceeds from the auction will fund stipends for students working in the public interest to serve underrepresented people and groups.
In the past, PILG fellowships have allowed students to work at organizations such as Greater Hartford Legal Aid and the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.
“PILG fellowships wouldn’t be possible without the support of the entire UConn Law community, including current students and alumni,” said the group’s vice president, Rachel Catanese. “We expect over 300 community members to attend, it should be a great night.”
Items available for bidding include gift certificates, sports memorabilia, vacation packages, artwork and even a trip to the movies with Assistant Dean Karen DeMeola.
The event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Reading Room in William F. Starr Hall on the UConn Law campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
