Facilities operations staff are responsible for the execution and coordination of various services related to the Law School's physical plant, grounds and related infrastructure with the goal of providing an environment that promotes quality education in a safe setting. Operations Division handles day-to-day maintenance, custodial and general upkeep of facilities on the Law School campus. This includes repairs to building and building systems, minor renovation projects, operation of utility systems (water, heat, AC and electrical) sanitation and recycling, groundskeeping, events, snow and ice control and related activities. Tom is responsible for maintaining all turf, plant and maintaining all gardens on the Law School campus, parking lot repair and maintenance, snow plowing and ice control, service for the fleet vehicles and tractors, aiding mechanical trades and event setups.
Lou is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the following systems: Central Plant boilers, pumps, controls, domestic hot and cold water systems, all sanitaria and waste water systems, cafeteria equipment, steam distribution to all offices and classrooms, chilled water distribution, fire sprinkler systems and snow removal.
Gary is responsible for pinning locks, creating keys, card access, security alarms, doors and closers, windows and latches, office renovations, floor refinishing, wall repair, cabinetry, glass repair, mechanical repair and welding, bathroom partitions and hardware, furniture repair and snow removal.
Greg is responsible for all building management systems (JCI Metesys), library boilers, all heating and cooling systems requiring refrigeration, cafeteria equipment, library centrifugal chillers and William F. Starr Hall building chiller plant, all VFD controlled systems, all rooftop HVAC systems, Liebert server room cooling system, and generators for the library and William F. Starr Hall.
