  • LaTanya Langley '00 has been recognized by The Network Journal as one of its annual 40 Under 40 Honorees

  • John M. Dunham '69 was recently presented with a Gold Key by the Connecticut Sports Writers' Alliance for the impact he made during 37 years with the Trinity College ice hockey program.

  • Jennifer Percy '02 has been elected to serve a three year term on the Government and Public Sector Section Council of the North Carolina Bar Association.

  • Shane T. Munoz '89 has been elected secretary/treasurer of the Florida Bar's Labor & Employment Law Section.

  • Charles F. Martin, III '01 has been recognized by the Fairfield County Business Journal as one of their 2012 "40 Under 40" award recipients. Martin is a partner at Robinson & Cole LLP and practices in the firm's Stamford and New York City offices.

  • Christina Colon Williams '14 is the recipient of the fourth annual LeClairRyan - Oliver W. Hill Scholarship which recognizes a student of color who most exemplifies the late Oliver W. Hill's qualities of legal excellence and selfless dedication to the fight for justice.

  • Mark Dubois '77 has been recognized by the Connecticut Law Tribune with the Quintin Johnstone Service to the Profession Award.

  • A number of Law School graduates were recognized at the Connecticut Bar Association's annual meeting including Brad Gallant '78 who had served the organization as president for the past year. Read more.

  • Tom Condon '75, a columnist for The Hartford Courant, has been recognized by the Press Club of Atlantic City with a first place Headliner Award for editorial writing.

  • The UConn Alumni Association has announced its 2012 slate of award winners including Professor Thomas Morawetz, Professor Richard Pomp and the Honorable Joette Katz '77.

  • Donald DeVivo '88 has been named Father of the Year by the Father's Day Council of the Hartford Chapter of the American Diabetes Association. DeVivo is president and co-owner of DATTCO, Inc., a full-service transportation company with headquarters in New Britain, CT.

     

  • Edward C. Lee LL.M. '99 has been elected president of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Lee is a member of the legal department at Aetna, Inc.

     

  • Cecil Thomas '06 has been reelected as president of the South Asian Bar Association of Connecticut. Thomas is a staff attorney at Greater Hartford Legal Aid where his work focuses on civil matters including housing, employment and family law.

     

  • Esteban Carranza LL.M. '10 has been elected as a leading insurance/reinsurance lawyer for the 2012 edition of Who's Who Legal - The International Who's Who of Insurance and Reinsurance.

     

  • Karem Friedman '08 has been appointed vice president of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association. Friedman is an associate at Wiggin and Dana.

     

  • Fallon DePina '08 has been chosen as president-elect of the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association's executive board. DePina previously served as the board's treasurer.
  • Ed Rosenthal '70 has been named the 2012 Honorable John P. Maloney Hall of Fame Inductee by Community Partners in Action,
  • Jeffrey J. White '03 has been recognized with a Mentor of the Year Award from Robinson & Cole LLP.
  • Constance Belton-Green '72 was recently awarded the 2012 George W. Crawford Trailblazer Award from the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association.

  • Melanie Orphanos '14 and Brian Boulet '14 were the winners of the 2012 Alva P. Loiselle Moot Court Competition. Craigin Howland '14 was recognized as best oralist. 

  • Thomas D. Ritter '77 has been recognized by the UConn Club with its Crystal Award in recognition of Ritter's service to the University and support of the department of athletics.

  • Professor Stephen Utz has been named a Fulbright Senior Specialist. This spring he will be serving on the Law Faculty of the Free University of Berlin where he will be teaching a course in the Taxation of Internationally Active Enterprises.

  • On April 23, Professor Jon Bauer and the Asylum and Human Rights Clinic were honored with Myra M. Oliver Awards at the 15th Annual Immigrant Award's ceremony sponsored by the Connecticut Immigrant & Refugee Coalition.

  • Robert M. Langer '73 recently was recognized with a special award by the American Bar Association's Section of Antitrust Law for his many years of dedicated service to the Section.

  • The team of Christina Canales '13, Hailey Petruccelli '13, Andrea Gomes '13, Joanna Taatjes '13, and Ray Carta '14 were finalists in the Capitol City Mock Trial Challenge at American University beating out teams from Georgetown, Fordham, William & Mary, NYU Law and the University of Virginia.
