April 1, 2013

Description

The Oklahoma Supreme Court and the Sovereignty Symposium, Inc. will host Sovereignty Symposium XXVI on June 5 and 6, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Sovereignty Symposium was established to provide a forum in which ideas concerning common legal issues can be exchanged in a scholarly, non-adversarial environment.

Susan J. Ferrell served as Attorney Advisor in the Oklahoma City office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for nine years and much of her work concerned HUD’s Native American programs.

One full (tuition, meals, and travel) scholarship to attend the Sovereignty Symposium XXVI will be offered in her memory. Travel, lodging, and meal expenses for the Ferrell scholarship will be paid pursuant to Oklahoma State Travel Reimbursement and subject to the limitations found on the Sovereignty Symposium’s website.

Applicants should demonstrate an interest in and contribution to Native American legal issues by an application letter. There is no application form.

Please include name, address, and day and evening telephone numbers in your letter. Applicants must be students at an accredited law school in the United States, its territories, or Canada.
