Description

The Connecticut Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section is accepting submissions for its annual writing competition. This year, the focus area for the competition is “federal, state, or local non-discrimination laws.”

The competition is open to law students who are in good standing, enrolled in any law school in Connecticut, and have not previously been awarded the Labor & Employment Law Section Award. Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of clarity, demonstrated understanding of relevant legal issues, and depth of analysis.

The selection committee may choose up to three winners. The first prize winner will receive $1,000, an invitation to attend the 2013 Connecticut Bar Association Annual Meeting, and publication of his or her entry in a Connecticut Bar Association publication. The second and third prize winners will receive invitations to the 2013 Connecticut Bar Association Annual Meeting and may be published in a Connecticut Bar Association publication.

Submissions must be received by email no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday April 15, 2013. It is the entrant’s responsibility to confirm receipt by the Section’s designee Nick Zaino.
