Association of Securities and Exchange Commission Alumni, Inc. (ASECA) announces its annual writing competition, which awards prizes for outstanding papers in the field of securities law. Papers may address any subject in the field of securities law. Undergraduates and graduate law students enrolled at accredited law schools in the United State for the fall semester of 2012 are eligible to participate.
Three prizes will be awarded at ASECA's annual dinner on Friday, February 22, 2013 in Washington, D.C.: first place, $5,000; second place, $3,000; and third place, $2,000. Award winners will be invited to join the SEC Commissioners and senior staff at the awards dinner. The first place winner will be reimbursed up to $1,000 in travel and lodging expenses.
Two copies of each submission should be sent to: ASECA, P.O. Box 5767, Washington, DC 20016 and must be received no later than November 16, 2012. Papers will be screened by a panel of judges consisting of securities practitioners and law professors. The best papers will be submitted to the Board of Directors of ASECA.
