Refund Policy
A student whose enrollment status decreases during the add/drop period and received financial assistance may not necessarily receive a refund. The refund may be returned directly to the lender, depending on a student's financial need and total aid awarded. A student will receive a notice if a refund is made to a student loan and will be billed if money is due to the School of Law. Consult the Student Handbook regarding the Refund Policy.
Students who receive financial aid
Student's who withdraw or become less than ½ time (less than 6 credits) during any given semester may owe immediate repayment of student loans to the School of Law. The School of Law is required by federal regulations to prorate and return loan funds that are used to pay for tuition. Federal regulations mandate that a student's aid eligibility be prorated. The calculation is based on the actual number of days a student is enrolled at least ½ time (6 or more credits).
It is very possible that a student who receives financial aid and withdraws or becomes enrolled for less than 6 credits will owe a balance or a repayment to the School of Law and also may be required to repay funds to the Federal Stafford Loan lender.
