What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?

The Law Library will borrow  and/or loan materials from/to libraries located across town or around the world.

Who is eligible for the service?

Current students, faculty and staff of the University of Connecticut School of Law. Consult our ILL Policies and Procedures for more information on interlibrary loan.

How do I request a book, book chapter, or article?

Log on to our online ILL system and use the easy to follow form. Please provide as much information as possible to better facilitiate the process. Incomplete or incorrect information will result in delays or cancellation of your request.

 

From our ILL website you can:

  • Submit Interlibrary loan requests
  • Track the progress of requests
  • View your request history
  • Monitor due dates for ILL books
  • Make renewal requests online
  • Receive documents and notices electronically

Expedited method to borrow a book via the WorldCat database

  • Review brief guidelines below and then select the WorldCat database
  • Consult WorldCat Search Tips [PDF] for basic guidance with searching
  • Utilize the drop-down boxes to construct your search in WorldCat
  • Display the record for the book that you want from the search results
  • Click on the ILLiad button within the record to request the book on ILL
  • Login to your ILLiad account (must first register as an ILLiad user above)
  • Review the information forwarded from WorldCat and click on Submit Request
