The Law School’s phone system has multiple features. Some are available on all lines (voicemail and speed dial), and some are dependent on the type of phone equipment (forwarding and other multi-line features). To dial an outside number, please dial 8 first.

Setting Speed Dial Numbers on All Phone Equipment

  • To set speed dial numbers
    • Pick up the handset
    • Dial *74
    • Dial key (2 through 7) where speed dial is to be programmed
    • Dial desired number, prefixed with 8 (ex: 8-860-570-5000)
  • Hear confirmation tone and replace handset
    • To use speed dial numbers
    • Pick up the handset
    • Dial speed dial key

Forwarding an ISDN Phone

  • Pick up the handset
  • Dial 172
    • For on-campus forwarding, dial the 4-digit extension where calls should go
    • For off-campus forwarding, dial 14, then the 10-digit phone number where calls should go
  • Hear confirmation tone and replace handset
  • Forwarding is now set
  • When CFV key is pressed and green light displays, incoming calls go directly to selected line

Forwarding an ISDN phone directly to voicemail

  • Pick up the handset
  • Dial 172
  • Dial 14 860 947 1191
  • Hear confirmation tone and replace handset
  • When CFV key is pressed and green light displays, incoming calls go directly to voicemail

Transferring a call on an ISDN phone

  • Tell caller you will transfer their call
  • Press Transfer key
  • Dial the other extension
  • Give call details to recipient of transferred call when they answer
  • Press Transfer key again to complete the transfer process
