The Law School’s 5 buildings and 10 acres of grounds are maintained by our dedicated facilities group.
Law School rooms serve a variety of purposes. Classrooms and meeting rooms can be booked for meetings and events. Check the rooms list to see which room meets your needs, and check the space planning calendar to check availability.
Faculty and staff may view seating charts, room layouts and additional information on room technology by accessing the "Technology Spaces" folder on the network L:\ drive. Sun Services holds the custodial contract for the University. Most areas of our buildings are cleaned regularly, but faculty offices are cleaned only upon request. An faculty support services member can put in a request for cleaning when a faculty member wants it done. Custodial requests should be made through the contacts listed above.
Heat and Cooling
Our buildings, other than the Library, were constructed in the mid-1920’s. In many areas, windows are original, and, while beautiful, let through a lot of heat and cold. Our heating system is old, but our facilities crew keeps it running. Most of our air conditioning is provided on either single-room or suite systems; our older buildings have not been renovated to include full-building systems.
Because of this, conditions in your office may vary. The ‘shoulder’ seasons in the spring and fall, when outdoor temperatures fluctuate, are particularly difficult, and facilities staff make regular adjustments to try to maintain comfortable conditions.
If you feel that you need a space heater, please put in a work order. The University is very concerned about fire safety with space heaters, and maintains an approved list. The Law School will purchase a heater for you. Please do not bring in your own heater from home. During the summer, facilities staff collects all space heaters for safety inspection.
