Biography

Nancy Kennedy, Adjunct Professor.  A 1997 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Professor Kennedy received her law degree in 2005 from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She is a partner with the Hartford intellectual property boutique, Alix, Yale & Ristas, LLP. In that capacity, Professor Kennedy manages the firm’s copyright, trade dress, domain name and other cyberlaw matters, as well as its domestic and international trademark portfolio. She regularly practices before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Copyright Office, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office of Customs and Border Protection.  Professor Kennedy also represents clients in disputes before the USPTO Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the courts.  She is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of Connecticut; the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut; and the U.S. Supreme Court.
