Biography
Professor Elsie Mata received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School. She has worked for Cohn Birnbaum & Shea, PC as well as the City of Hartford Corporation Counsel's Office. Professor Mata has also served as Chief Deputy Clerk of Court for the United States District Court, District of Connecticut. Professor Mata has been admitted to the Bar in Connecticut and has been active in the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association. Most recently Professor Mata has begun studies in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. She returns to the University of Connecticut School of Law having recently been a moderator of the following panels: Perspective from the State and Local Bench and How to Become a Law Clerk.
