Grad Earns Special Recognition
David Leff '78 has received a 2012 "Special Recognition Award from the Connecticut Association of Conservation and Inland Wetland Commissions. Leff has has a 28-year career in Connecticut as an agriculture and environmental policy advisor to the state legislature and as deputy commissioner of the then Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection.

Greta E. Solomon '76 has been awarded the Susan L. Davis Women's Leadership Award by the Bridgeport Regional Business Council's Women's Leadership Council.
Solomon is chair of the Trusts & Estates, Elder Law and Tax Groups at Cohen and Wolf, P.C.

Fellow of the Year
Gaetano Ferro '78 has been named Fellow of the Year by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) at the organization's 50th anniversary annual meeting in Chicago. Ferro co-chaired two AAML committees and was a member of the group's Executive Committee. He is a past president of the AAML and past chair of the Connecticut Bar Association's Family Law Section.

Second Amendment and Freedom
Martha Dean '86 has received an award from the National Rifle Association in appreciation for all that she has done for the "Second Amendment and Freedom" in Connecticut.
Dean was specifically recognized for her legal victories in defense of shooting ranges and her political activities in support of the Constitutional rights of firearm owners. Dean actively represents corporations, small business owners, and property owners in all aspect of environmental law and in advancing rights protected by the Constitution.
Martha Dean '86 has received an award from the National Rifle Association in appreciation for all that she has done for the "Second Amendment and Freedom" in Connecticut.

UConn Law graduates Cheryl Chase '78, Joette Katz '77, and Linda Kelly '76 have been named to Hartford Magazine's 50 Most Influential list. Also included on the list are UConn's president, Susan Herbst, and Martha Stone, executive director of the Center for Children's Advocacy.

Ryan Cook '14 is this year's Hastie Moot Court Champion. Raymond Carta '14 took home the award for "Best Oralist," and Michael Schoeneberger '14 won "Best Brief."

CHBA Scholarship Winners

Under the guidance of Professor Tim Everett '84, students in the Law School's Criminal Clinic presented a case to the Connecticut Appellate Court on behalf of their client which resulted in the Court ordering a new trial.
