What Can I Do About Spam?

• DO NOT respond to the message and request to be removed from the sender's email list. Often spammers will use your response as verification that there is a "live" person at the end of the email address, and/or sell your email address to other companies who collect such information.
• Delete the message.
• If you receive several emails from the same source or with similar subject lines, you can setup a filter in Outlook. This will automatically send unwanted messages to your Deleted Items folder.
  • If you have Outlook 2000, you can use the Junk and Adult Content filters.
  • If you have Outlook 95 or 97, you need to add a rule (Tools | Inbox Assistant | Add Rule). If you need assistance, contact the Help Desk at 570-5158.
