The Office of International Graduate Programs invites you to attend a talk by Dr. Dire Tladi LL.M. '00.  Dr. Tladi will speak about his experience as a Legal Advisor of the South African Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (and in particular about his experience in the Security Council).  He holds a BLC and LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria, an LLM from the University of Connecticut (where he attended as a Fulbright Scholar and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Aware) and a PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam (the Netherlands). He has published widely in international law.  Formerly an Associate Professor of international law at UNISA, he has also served as a senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria.  He is a Principal State Law Adviser for International Law at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation in Pretoria. Dr. Tladi is an Extraordinary Professor at the University of Stellenbosch.  In November 2011 he was elected to the UN International Law Commission (for a term of five years).

  • On May 15, Professor Darcy Kirk will be the luncheon speaker at the annual meeting of the New Jersey Law Librarians Association where she will update the group on the activities of the Association of American Law Libraries (AALL). Kirk currently serves as president of the AALL.

  • Professor Richard A. Wilson will deliver three talks in Oslo, Norway on May 14 and 15 including "Gangster's Paradise? Framing Crime in Sub-Saharan Africa" at the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Oslo.

  • Professor Jennifer Mailly has been awarded the 2013-2014 Teaching Scholar Award by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at UConn.
