January 9 marks the beginning of the regular session of the Connecticut General Assembly where thirteen Law School graduates will serve their local communities. Chris Murphy '02 has been sworn in to the US Senate and Joe Courtney '78 begins his fourth term in the US House of Representatives.

  • Jami Layaou Hearn '02 has been recognized by the Wyoming Seminary as its 2012 Outstanding Young Alumna.

  • Brenda Bergeron '83, Michael Jefferson '95, Michael Albis '78, Pat Kaplan '78, Chris Meisenkothen '99, Benjamin Zivyon '87, John Stafstrom '81 and Ted Phillips '81 were named among the Connecticut Law Tribunes's "Dozen Who Made a Difference."

  • Interim Dean Willajeanne F. McLean has been named by On Being a Black Lawyer Magazine to its Power 100 for being a strong advocate for diversity in the legal profession.

  • Jeffrey Zyjeski '02 has been named to Connecticut Magazine's 40 Under 40. Zyjeski is an attorney with Gaffney, Bennett and Associates, Inc. in New Britain.

  • Misti Munster '09 has been recognized as "Katahdin Counsel" by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court for completion of 50 or more hours of pro bono work in her community. Munster is an associate at the Portland, ME office of Verrill Dana LLP.

  • The UConn Law's Thomas J. Meskill '56 Law Library has been named by BestMastersPrograms.org as one of the 50 most amazing University libraries in the world.
