John Day has been the first professor-in-residence of the Insurance Law Center.  While senior vice president and chief counsel of CIGNA Corporation, he was responsible for the legal and regulatory operations of CIGNA's healthcare, pension, life insurance, reinsurance, and investment operations.  He also served as Virginia's insurance commissioner and deputy superintendent for the New York Insurance Department, among other positions.  He continues to teach courses on health care policy and law, the regulation of financial institutions, and business organizations.
