Laptop Exam Signup
Exam4, created by Extegrity, will be used by the law school for the administration of computer exams. This product enables students to take an exam in a secure environment locking out all other files, programs and the Internet. Exam4 versions are available for Windows (Vista compatible) and Mac users. Windows 7 is not currently supported.
To take exams on your laptop, students must complete three steps:
- Sign up
- Install
- Validate
1. Sign Up
Students must indicate if they wish to use their laptop to take their exams. The sign-up period is November 9-16, 2009
To indicate your wish to use your laptop please log in using your NetID and indicate for which exams you will utilize a laptop option (form below).
- Click on the checkbox before the course titles for each course in which you want to do a laptop exam.
- After selecting all of your laptop exam courses, click the SUBMIT button on the bottom of the page.
If you successfully submit your selections, you will be presented a page summarizing your choices with an option to go back and edit, you do NOT also receive an email confirmation of your choices. If there are errors in your input, you will see the form again. Correct the errors (highlighted in red) and resubmit the form.
Students must select their computer exam courses during the November 9-16, 2009 sign-up period. This is a very firm deadline. For a variety of reasons, the task of scheduling exams has become an unduly time-consuming, intricate and complex one. Late changes create a "domino effect" of sorts and are quite burdensome from an administrative standpoint. If you miss the deadline, you will be required to file your request with the Petitions Committee, which in its deliberations will consider not only the specific administrative impact of granting your late request but also the impact of granting late requests of this sort in general. (After all, the Committee cannot know how many petitions of the same sort will be filed after your own.) The result may well be the denial of an otherwise-legitimate deviation or PC-exam request.

2. Install Exam4
Students must install the exam software prior to taking exams: Installation instructions and downloads.
The install period is November 9-16, 2009.
3. Validate Exam4
After installation, students must validate the compatibility of their laptops with the Exam4 software: Validation instructions.
The validation period is November 9-16, 2009.
