Jim Greenfield is a retired partner of the law firm of Bingham McCutchen (now Morgan Lewis and Bockius). While Greenfield is not engaged in the firm’s practice he still maintains an office at the firm. During his 40-year career Greenfield focused on the representation of institutional and fund purchasers of debt and equity securities. These transactions involved multiple currencies and counterparties located in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, India, Kazakhstan and virtually all countries in Europe and North America.

In addition to presenting lectures and seminars at numerous professional and bar association conferences, and authoring articles in various professional journals, Greenfield is a co-author and editor of the Term Loan Handbook and co-author of the Financial Covenants Reference Manual. He is also the co-draftsman of the Model Form Note Purchase Agreement, which is generally recognized as the industry form of choice for all domestic and cross border private debt placement transactions. 

Greenfield is a past president and trustee of the American College of Investment Counsel and holds an undergraduate degree from Brown and an MBA and JD from Columbia.
