Professor Marcia Canavan teaches in the Lawyering Process program. She received her B.A. in psychology as well as her Masters of Public Health from UCLA, and she earned her law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law. She has taught at Quinnipiac University School of Law, the University of Rhode Island , Metropolitan State College of Denver, where she earned the rank of tenured professor, the University of Colorado and, most recently, as Professor of Legal Writing at Roger Williams University School of Law. In 2006, she published "Holistic Education in a Law School Clinic" in the Quinnipiac Law Review, and in 2004, she published "Using Literature to Teach Legal Writing." She is also the author/editor of two college textbooks: Woman's Law and Colorado Juvenile Law. In addition, Professor Canavan has over 25 years of experience as a practicing attorney, judge/magistrate, and mediator.
