Anne Goldstein has taught at the Law School since 1996, both in the clinical program and the first year Lawyering Process program. For the past two years she has directed the Lawyering Process program. Professor Goldstein's teaching emphasizes pro bono legal service. In 2006, for example, over 40 first-year students working under her supervision interviewed, counseled and negotiated on behalf of low income clients facing utility shutoffs in New Haven, New Britain and Hartford, in conjunction with a legal services "Utility Day" program. Goldstein is a recipient of the Connecticut Bar Association's 2006 Pro Bono Award and received the UConn Public Interest Law Group's first annual Cornelius J. Scanlon Award for her work "encouraging the practice of public interest law" at the Law School. Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Goldstein was a member of Livingston Adler Pulda, Meiklejohn & Kelly, PC, a plaintiff's employment and union-side labor firm in Hartford. She also served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Ellen A. Peters of the Connecticut Supreme Court. Professor Goldstein is a graduate of Radcliffe College (Harvard University) and NYU Law School.
