Anne Dailey

Anne C. Dailey, Evangeline Starr Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Professor Dailey teaches Family Law, Federal Courts, Women and the Law, and seminars focused on law and psychology. Professor Dailey received her B.A. from Yale University in 1983 and her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1987, where she graduated magna cum laude and was articles co-chair of the Harvard Law Review. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Jose A. Cabranes, then United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut. After working for two years as a litigation associate at the New Haven law firm of Wiggin & Dana, in 1990 she joined the faculty at the University of Connecticut School of Law. From 2007-08, Professor Dailey served as Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development, followed by her recent appointment as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Her writings have been published in the Duke Law Journal, the Iowa Law Review, the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, the Texas Law Journal, the Virginia Law Review, and the Yale Law Journal, among others. Her current research focuses on the value of developmental psychology to modern conceptions of citizenship and the family. In 2002, she was the recipient of the CORST prize from the American Psychoanalytic Association for the best interdisciplinary essay, and the paper was subsequently published in the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association. Professor Dailey has visited at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
