Faculty Committees
ACADEMIC SUPPORT
The Academic Support Committee is responsible for overseeing the academic support services offered at the Law School.

CAREER PLANNING & CLERKSHIPS
The Career Planning and Clerkships Committee works with the Career Services Office to develop procedures and policies relating to student employment during summers and after graduation. The Committee is charged with assisting the Office of Career Services in making students aware of the possibility of clerking for a judge upon graduation, educating students concerning the clerkship application process, and encouraging students to consider clerkship opportunities.

CONDUCT CODES
The Committee on Conduct Codes is charged with evaluating the existing student academic misconduct policy. It will consider drafting new policies governing student and faculty non-academic misconduct.

EDUCATIONAL POLICY
The Educational Policy Committee, whose membership includes at least one faculty member teaching in the live-client clinical program and one faculty member teaching in the Lawyering Process program, is responsible for supervising the school's educational program. The Committee reviews all course offerings and course descriptions, and makes recommendations to the faculty concerning courses to be approved. The Committee guides the Administration and makes recommendations to the faculty concerning all matters involving the award of academic credit. The Committee also plays a crucial function in the long range planning of the school's curriculum.

EVENING DIVISION
The Evening Division Committee has responsibility for policies and issues relating to the evening division program.

FACILITIES
The Facilities Committee is responsible for reviewing plans for Law School projects as identified under UConn 21st century project. Additionally, the Committee reviews safety and environmental concerns of the campus and recommends improvements. The Committee also recommends space allocations for faculty, staff and student needs.

STUDENT COMMITTEE ON FACULTY APPOINTMENTS
The Student Committee on Faculty Appointments provides assistance to the Faculty Appointments Committee (FAC) in the evaluation of candidates under consideration by the faculty for appointment. The Student Committee will have an opportunity to interview candidates during their campus visits and to provide opinions to the FAC.

INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
The International Programs Committee provides guidance and support to the Dean and the Director of International Programs in planning those aspects of the Law School program specifically targeted to international issues. This includes formulating policy for the School's graduate program in U.S. Law and Legal Institutions; monitoring the success of the Law School's student and faculty exchange programs; and advising the Educational Policy Committee and the Dean concerning the international component of the school's curriculum. The Committee is also charged with helping to broaden and deepen the school's relationship with legal scholars throughout the world.

LIBRARY & RESEARCH
The Library Committee serves as an oversight and advisory body concerning long range library issues, including, but not limited to, acquisitions policy and the building of the collection, relative emphasis on print vs. electronic media, provision of service to multiple constituencies, and, the provision of research support to the faculty and the students.

PUBLIC INTEREST & PRO BONO
The Law School is dedicated to instilling a sense of the importance of public interest and pro bono work in students. The Public Interest and Pro Bono Committee exists to develop and support this work.

FORMER COMMITTEES
INSTITUTIONAL REPUTATION
The Institutional Reputation Committee is charged with considering ways in which the Law School can improve its institutional reputation among lawyers, judges and academics.
TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS
At the request of the Provost, the Ad Hoc Committee on teaching effectiveness is charged with reviewing and making proposals on matters relating to the improvement of the law school classroom experience.
WEB SITE ENHANCEMENT
The Web Site Enhancement Committee has the task of improving the web site and establishing a system for ongoing maintenance.
