Events Checklist

Planning an event requires a number of steps and involves staff from many offices across campus.  This checklist will help you through the process.

  1. Funding
  2. Space
    • Request a room  Please specify any A/V needs on your request
    • Contact compserv to confirm A/V at least three days before your event
  3. Food
  4. Publicity
    • Work with Communications to promote your event
    • Contact compserv with details for event webpage
    • Contact compserv to create RSVP mechanism
    • Send reminders to lists 3 days and 1 day before event
  5. Presenters
    • Arrange lodging and local travel
    • Arrange for reimbursement as necessary
  6. Hosting
    • Set up exterior directional signage
    • Put out interior signs as necessary
    • Create panelist name signs
    • Print nametags
    • Check in guests
    • Distribute bottled water to each panel
