The Changing Face of HIV/AIDS
When HIV/AIDS was first discovered in the 1980's, most of those diagnosed with the virus were only given a short time to live. While the prognosis has since changed, there continues to be tens of thousands of new infections reported each year. Today, world-wise estimates indicate that there are at least 600 people newly infected with HIV every hour. This panel will take a fresh look at the changing face of HIV/AIDS from four different perspectives. In addition to examining the medical advances and current legal challenges by those with HIV/AIDS, there will also be a more localized focus on HIV/AIDS in Connecticut.
