Zimmerman's Research Guide

Zimmerman’s Research Guide is a free online encyclopedia covering over 1,000 legal and law-related topics. Each entry provides references to both print and online resources, with links to online material. Entries also list any relevant Lexis and Westlaw databases.

The guide is searchable by keyword and can be browsed by topic. Entries are continually updated and may consist of only a definition (e.g. the entries for the Act of State Doctrine or the Beige Book) or a complete research guide (e.g. the entries for Treaties-U.S. or Trademarks). This is an especially helpful place to begin your research when you are dealing with an unfamiliar topic.
