As if solid legal research skills weren't reason enough, now students have an added impetus to earn research points in Lexis and Westlaw.  Both companies are allowing students to donate the value of their points to the American Red Cross

From our Lexis rep:

Students can donate 250 LNUR points to the Red Cross. All donations made to the American Red Cross from now through March will be designated to the Haiti Relief Fund. Students just need to click on their Rewards tab from www.lexisnexis.com/lawschool/ and it will take them to the rewards center that will tell them how they can donate.

From our Westlaw rep:

For every 250 WestlawRewards® Points you donate, Thomson Reuters will give $5 on your behalf to the American Red Cross to help victims of the recent earthquake. You will now see a link from www.lawschool.westlaw.com on the right side of the screen to "Donate Points to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Effort". Clicking on the link will take you to the WestlawRewards® Catalog where you can donate in 250 point increments. Students will also see a link from the WestlawRewards® home page.

If you don't know how to earn points, contact our Lexis and Westlaw reps.
