With exams just around the corner, a new addition to the library’s collection, Open Book: Succeeding on Exams from the First Day of Law School by Barry Friedman and John C.P. Goldberg, should prove useful.

The book, written by two award-winning professors with a wealth of classroom experience, provides advice derived from years of teaching almost every 1L course. Written in a straightforward, often humorous style, it explains what makes law exams unique and includes numerous detailed examples providing concrete demonstrations of exam-taking techniques.

The book is not just an exam prep book - it also includes guidance on how to get the most out of classes and law school, providing sample outlines, class notes, and case briefs.

The book can be found on the library’s new book shelf. Read some excerpts here and reviews here.
