Gray Lady Down: What the Decline and Fall of the New York Times Means for America by William McGowan has just been added to the popular reading collection on the library’s third floor.

This exposé makes the claim that left-wing ideology and political correctness, especially when it comes to Islamic extremism, have destroyed the Times’ credibility. It traces the changes at the paper to the early 1990's, when Arthur Sulzberger Jr. took over the reins from his father, and details various incidents, gaffes, scandals, and omissions in coverage that have occurred over those years. The author concludes that the paper has become a propaganda publication rather than an objective reporter of the news.
